I have always had a heart for hospitality and good food. My culinary journey began in rural New York State. I grew up in a log cabin home that bordered my grandparents farm. A foot paved trail through a field lead to the farmhouse where the door was always open and the coffee was always on. My grandparents had a large family and lived off the land with livestock and a garden long before farm to table was the trend. I adored everything about my Grandma Quick, including her snacks which were the cucumbers we just picked, sliced, and served with apple cider vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper. I was always cooking at home and I took the first restaurant job I could get at 16. My formal training is from Johnson & Wales University with degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management. I learned on the job as a Banquet & Conference Center Manager for the Statler Hotel at Cornell University. I had the privilege of working in one my favorite cities, Charleston, SC for Holy City Hospitality's award winning and trend setting restaurants including 39 Rue de Jean and Coast Bar and Grill. My eye for food styling came from working with photographers in Charleston and Savannah GA working for Le Crueset. I am married to my awesome husband, Todd, who is also a full-time chef, and our three fabulous kids are my hardest food critics.
From my clients:
I have taken two cooking classes with Chef Celeste Borelli at her boutique studio kitchen in Avon and could not have been more pleased with both of them! Chef Borelli has a warm and inviting personality and is truly gifted at turning fresh, local ingredients into elegant, yet simple to prepare, dishes that I have made myself several times since the classes. In addition, I was fortunate enough to enjoy a lovely and delicious brunch prepared by Chef Borelli at her home. I encourage you to contact Chef Borelli whether you are looking to learn some fresh new dishes to share with family and friends this holiday season or could use a little help with your cooking. Celeste has such ease in front of an audience. She skillfully taught our group many techniques, quick recipes, and tips to help our group of stay at home moms learn to love to cook for our families. She's a true gem! Katie G.
Celeste is fun and kind. She gets kids involved in cooking in ways that they can take away skills and excitement about cooking. Celeste is patient in how she deals with kids of all ages. She makes amazing food on top of it all! Anna G.
